Community Benefits
We are committed to giving back to the regions that host our renewable energy projects with meaningful benefit sharing programs designed for the community, by the community.
Neighbour Shared Benefit Scheme
Expressions of interest from project neighbours are now open for the proposed Kerrs Creek Wind Farm Neighbour Shared Benefit Scheme (SBS).
In addition to the wider community benefit program, the SBS will ensure long-term benefits are delivered to neighbours of the Project.
While dependent on the final layout, it is estimated that around 130 neighbouring properties will be eligible to receive ongoing annual payments under the SBS. This includes owners of dwellings in both Euchareena and Kerrs Creek.
If you think your property may be within 5km of the Project and eligible to participate, please click the button below to complete the online registration form.
Benefit sharing and sponsorships
The Kerrs Creek Wind Farm will commit to establishing a community fund once the project is operational. The fund will provide ongoing funding to support local community groups over the life of the project. Input will be sought from the community to inform and shape how the fund could be implemented.
RES also sponsors local community groups, clubs and projects where possible and we are on the lookout for local clubs, projects and organisations to sponsor. If you are seeking sponsorship and your organisation is located in the Orange, Belgravia, Euchareena, Boomey or Molong area, please contact us.
First Nations Engagement
The transition to renewable energy must occur fairly for First Nations people and their communities.
RES has established a Reconciliation Action Plan and adopts best practice engagement with First Nations communities.
Employment
The project will generate approximately 210 full time equivalent (FTE) jobs during its approximately 32-month construction period.
The project will support approximately 10 FTE positions during operations and maintenance of the facility. Based on the project site, these residential roles are anticipated to exist for the operational life of the project (30 years). The operational period is also expected to create further supply chain employment.
We believe in creating positive and enduring social and economic legacies.
Recognising the long-term impact of our projects, we strive to ensure community satisfaction. Through collaboration, we aim to bolster resilience against climate shifts and support local innovation and manufacturing.
The RES team regularly hold events in the surrounding areas of the Project. These events provide the opportunity to ask questions, and to learn about the Project in greater detail. Updates will be issued on the website following the events.
