A Tribute to Mental Health Awareness: RES Sponsors the Orange United Sports Club Green Ribbon Event
On Saturday 31 May 2025, the serene Moulder Park came alive with a powerful spirit of community and remembrance. The Green Ribbon Event, held during the Orange United Warriors Club’s Round 7 home game against the Cargo Blue Heelers, aimed to raise awareness and support for mental health within the community.
This round carried a profound significance, honouring the memory of beloved club teammate, Dudley Shillingsworth, and all those the club and community have lost to the 'black dog.' As the Warriors and Blue Heelers took to the field, they competed fiercely for the Dudley Shillingsworth Shield—a symbol of unity, strength, and community resilience.
The day was not just about the competition; it was a heartfelt reminder that no one walks alone, and that support, understanding, and connection can change lives. The Orange United Warriors emerged victorious, proudly taking home the Dudley Shillingsworth Shield, in a match that was as much about camaraderie as it was about sport.
Adding to the significance of the event, RES, the world's largest independent renewable energy company, demonstrated its commitment to community values and mental health by sponsoring the event.
Kurt Beahan, Vice President & Co-Founder of Orange United Warriors, expressed his gratitude:
“We're incredibly grateful for the support from RES - Power for Good during the Mental Health Round. This initiative has not only raised vital awareness for mental health but has also shown the power of community connection. Clinton Brewer's personal insights have highlighted the importance of these discussions, connecting deeply with both our Warriors and Blue Heelers communities. Sponsors like RES play a crucial role in fostering grassroots initiatives that make a real difference in our local communities."
Clinton Brewer, RES Cultural Engagement Advisor, echoed these sentiments:
“The Orange United Sports Club does such a good job of bringing people together, keeping them healthy and regulated and checking in on each other. At RES we believe there’s nothing more important than making sure people are healthy and connected with each other and we're proud to support this important event to raise awareness for mental health in the community.

RES joins Orange United Sports Club in support of White Ribbon Australia
RES proudly partnered with Orange United Sports Club to sponsor the Charity Round for White Ribbon Australia. While the day produced blizzard-like conditions for players and spectators, the message of support shone through on their jerseys.
The Orange United Sports Club embodies strong family values and has participated in the NSW government’s Tackling Violence Program, which leverages men’s involvement in rugby league to shift attitudes and behaviours regarding family and domestic violence. Unfortunately, domestic violence affects 1 in 6 women and 1 in 18 men in Australia, according to 2021-2022 data.
RES’s logo was displayed on the jerseys on the charity round day on 20th July 2024, after which the jerseys were auctioned off through a Facebook auction and all proceeds donated to White Ribbon Australia. White Ribbon Australia is a global social movement working to stop men’s violence against women, striving for a society where all women and children are safe.
